This really is some Fucking Good Port...
You've probably heard me mention Riversands Wines before. They sent me a couple of bottles of their fun & fabulous sparkling wines to try - check out my write-up here for a bit more info and history on the winery.
Well this time, I'm sipping on their Fucking Good Port #gifted
Riversands are known for their fortified muscats & ports, and the label on this one doesn't lie. It is fucking good! As you can see from the colour, it's more ruby in style (as opposed to tawny). Berries, plums & spice burst in the mouth, and it leaves a nice, clean finish. There's also a delicious hint of chocolate, which is always a win. The sweetness is lovely without being cloying and sickly. I could just sit and stare into the flames of a firepit, sipping on this for hours...
Food match: Chocolate, nuts, roasted plums, a cinnamon scroll... you get the idea.
Music match: Got a mate who plays guitar? Bring them along. If not, you can't go wrong with a bit of Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Occasion match: You're sitting by the fire pit feeling toasty warm, with a silly big grin on your face. You've had an epic meal, and you're feeling grateful for friends, family and Fucking Good Port.
Also, stay tuned! I'm planning to pop a little bit into my ice cream maker to create a delicious ruby port ripple. I'm drooling already...
